Mandriva Spring 2007

I recently installed Mandriva Spring 2007 Free Edition. Mandriva Spring came with very useful software. Previous version Mandriva came with one DVD which can be used to install 32bit or 64bit OS. This time there is separate DVD for each versions. Installation is fast unlike fedora but Boot loader only detects windows OS. Bootloader in ubuntu and vector linux detects all Oprating systems. But it is easy to add all OS though Control Center.

PHP, Perl is working properly without doing any configuration.Some new software i found in this version are Glade Interface Designer, KDevelop (C/C++ Integrated Environment), IDLE (Python Shell), PHP, AbiWord (Simple Word Processor).

Mandriva spring 2007 came with more Desktop Environments. But default look and feel of xcfe is not impressive.

The new start menu looks good , i was unable to change the color of the start button


New Firefox does not come with flash player installed, we have to install it manually. In my machine Firefox is often hanging if i open too many tabs. In previous version i never faced this problem.

Startup Screen is looks better.

Over all new Mandriva Spring 2007 is good with very useful software
